Not Always a Smooth Ride

Well this week isn't going to well. We have been up north in Wyoming trying to get down south to Texas for our week off. But that has been a little difficult with the snow and road closures. We haven't been exercising because it's been so cold out! The interstate was shut down at Rawlins,  WY on the 16th so we got a room at Little America, WY The next morning they opened them back up but we got about 50 miles from Rawlins and they shut them down again. So we parked at the Flying J for the day. The next morning on the 18th they finally opened them up between Ralwins and Laramie. So it took 2.5 hours to drive 100 miles! Once we got to Laramie they shut it down at Laramie. So we took a back road as did a lot of trucks. Finally got down to Denver and were out of the bad weather. Sadly we saw some bad accidents along the way; trucks and  5th wheel pick-up/camper trailers in the ditch.

I weighed in this morning and this is only proof that you need to eat health to lose weigh..huh!! The last few days we have cheated and ate out. Gone way over on my calories and it showed on the scale. 224.6 Damn it's getting so hard to get passed 224 lbs. Simon has also gained. Last time he weighed in at 187 and today 190. :(

Next week we will be in Texas on our week vacation so dieting will be difficult, we will be having a lot of Subway. Hopefully I won't gain any. We will be doing a lot of walking and hiking, as we will be birding!

Have a great weekend hope to report a lose in weight soon!!

Daily Walk With Some Jogging!

This morning hubby and I were at Clive, IA for a walk/ jog on a nice foot path behind the Love's Truck Stop. We have been doing walking with some jogging. We probably jogged a third of the 2.18 mile.

My goal for jogging is to be able to jog a mile straight by September. It will be hard since I have asthma., but worth it in the end!

Our story

My story starts back when I was a teenager. Unlike most weight lose stories I was not really over weight in high school, but I sure thought I was. I was a size 12 jeans and I'm a large frame person and was around 150 lbs.

I met my first husband and got married when I was 19 I then gained a little weight and then a little bit more. I divorced 3 years later, not because of my weight, just because we were too young when we got married. I was probably around 170 or 180 nothing horrible.

When I was in my mid 20's I was around 200 lbs. Then my late 20's I crept up to 215. That's is the weight I was when I bet my Simon , my soul mate, who is a truck driver, I joined him two months later in the truck, have been riding along ever since and we married in 2011. I would eat when I am an emotional eater and this is how I gained around 50 lbs in two years.

In October 2012 I was experiencing headaches so I went to the doctor and weighed in at 268!!! They told me I had High Blood Pressure. Never thought that would happen to me. They told me to either lose the weight or I'd have to take a pill. So I chose to lose the weight!

I heard about My Fitness Pal from a friend on FB and thought I"d check that out. So Simon and I started counting calories and walking 3-5 times a week. We use another free app RunKeeper great for counting calories burned and tracking how far you've walked. The weight was just falling off! By the end of December I weighed 238 lbs. I'd lost 30 lbs in less then 2 months! In the beginning the weight really falls off!

In January I weighed in at 241; gained at Christmas. But by the end of January I got down to 232.8 lbs. The end of February I weighed 227.4. The end of March I weighed 224.8 and two days ago I weighed in at 224.4.

Yes, that's right I hit my first plateau. Ugh! The last few months was I have lost around 3 lbs, wow looks at lot worse when I write it down!

My husband is pretty much the same as me with his plateau the last 2 months. He started at 217 and is now down to 189. He wants to get down to around 150- 160 lbs. Only 30-40 more lbs to go! While I've got around 70 more to lose. But we did start exercising again this week. This week we have exercised a total of times. I also lift weights in the truck in the evening and at in some cardio too. He chooses not to lift weights. I want to have some definition and muscles!! Maybe even a 6-pack!
